Our Programmes
Digital Transformation for Social Impact
The Digital Transformation Programme at Nexus Zanzibar is dedicated to harnessing the power of technology to directly improve social outcomes and foster a truly digitally inclusive society.
We strategically introduce, implement, and support scalable digital solutions designed to enhance the efficiency. This includes establishing essential digital infrastructure, deploying sector-specific technologies such as e-health or ed-tech platforms, and running comprehensive digital literacy training tailored for all segments of the population.
We deploy targeted interventions, including establishing community technology hubs, providing access to affordable digital tools, and running specialized training in digital literacy and practical tech skills.
By closing the digital divide and ensuring that technology serves as an accessible tool for everyone, we enable greater transparency, improve access to vital information and services, and ultimately accelerate socio-economic progress across Zanzibar.
Capacity Building
Nexus Zanzibar’s Capacity Building Programme is strategically designed to ensure that the benefits of the digital age are accessible to all residents, directly improving social outcomes.
Our approach centers on digital inclusion, which goes beyond simply providing access to devices; it involves empowering individuals with the skills and confidence needed to effectively use technology in their daily lives and work. We offer targeted training in essential digital literacy, specialized technical skills, and entrepreneurship, focusing on underserved groups, including women, youth, and rural communities.
By fostering a digitally-savvy population, we enable access to crucial online services like education, healthcare, and financial tools, transforming local capacity into a powerful engine for equitable and sustainable socio-economic development across Zanzibar.
Our Health Service Delivery Programme is dedicated to achieving tangible social outcomes by strengthening the accessibility, quality, and equity of healthcare across Zanzibar.
Recognizing that health is the bedrock of development, this programme focuses on supporting primary and community-level care to address the most pressing public health challenges, such as maternal and child health, and disease prevention.
We implement this through capacity building—training and mentoring local health workers and community health volunteers—and leveraging digital transformation to improve data collection, logistics, and resource allocation.
By facilitating the adoption of smart, localized health technologies and fostering a skilled, motivated local workforce, Nexus Zanzibar helps to build a more resilient, data-driven, and patient-centered health system that can sustainably serve all communities.
